NetSuite ships industry agents and opens its skills to Claude and ChatGPT

SuiteAgents for software, product, and construction are live in NetSuite Next. The bigger signal is that NetSuite's business rules travel with the model you choose.

What happened

At SuiteWorld on October 26, 2026, Oracle NetSuite announced SuiteAgents for six industries. Agents for software, product, and construction are available now in NetSuite Next. The other three industry agents are planned for a future release. The software agent covers contract orchestration, revenue compliance, billing, and forecasting.

The construction agent prepares payment applications from “verified progress,” approved changes, and retainage terms. NetSuite also introduced more than 45 SuiteSkills. They run inside NetSuite’s business rules, roles, and permissions, whether called from NetSuite’s own AI or from outside models through the AI Connector Service.

What it means

The rules are the product, more than the agent. NetSuite showed one CFO dashboard rendered in Claude, ChatGPT, and NetSuite Next, with consistent numbers across all three. NetSuite also told diginomica that more than 13,000 customers already use AI through the connector over MCP. The ERP keeps the business logic and the permissions. The model becomes a choice.

Why it matters to you

For a NetSuite shop, this settles an argument. You do not have to pick between the ERP vendor’s AI and the model your team already uses. Billing and revenue teams at software companies get an agent aimed at contract-to-cash. Construction controllers get help with payment applications and retainage. A new SuiteAgent Management Workspace centralizes agent permissions and traces record changes.

What to watch

Watch for the other three industry agents, which NetSuite plans for a future release. Watch the number of customers using AI through the connector, which NetSuite put at more than 13,000. Watch whether the numbers stay consistent when the same task runs in Claude, ChatGPT, and NetSuite Next.
