Sidetrade sells AR agents at a fixed price while rivals add meters

Sidetrade's SAFE framework runs order-to-cash agents on its own models and GPUs, sold by subscription. It is a direct answer to per-token pricing.

What happened

Sidetrade launched SAFE, the Sidetrade Agentic Framework for Enterprise, on September 10, 2026. Every agent on SAFE runs on Sidetrade’s own fine-tuned open-weight models, in its own data centers, on its own GPUs. SAFE enforces policy with deterministic escalation and logs every agent action. Sidetrade sells its agents by subscription, including a volume of tasks and token equivalents, with no exposure to third-party per-million-token pricing. It offers multi-year contracts that guarantee compute pricing. SAFE already runs Sidetrade’s Aimie Cash Collection Agent in production.

What it means

A week later, Salesforce published rules to meter outside agents. The market is splitting. One camp passes token and call costs through to you. The other absorbs them and sells a fixed bundle. Sidetrade’s CEO framed the CFO’s problem directly, asking how a CFO can calculate ROI under per-token pricing.

Why it matters to you

For an AR leader buying collections agents, cost predictability is now a vendor differentiator. A fixed subscription moves usage risk to the vendor. It also moves model choice to the vendor. You trade control over which model runs for control over the bill.

What to watch

Watch whether Sidetrade keeps its fixed price as volumes grow and model costs change. Watch whether more agent vendors offer multi-year contracts that guarantee compute pricing, or whether metering wins. Watch which agents follow the Aimie Cash Collection Agent into production on SAFE. If model costs fall, watch how Sidetrade passes the savings through at renewal.
