Causa Prima runs a network where one AI agent acts for the buyer and another acts for the supplier. The agents clear invoice disputes, chase missing facts, and negotiate early-payment discounts. It raised $30M in about four months, a $10M pre-seed in June 2026 and a $20M seed led by Base10 (High). Revenue and valuation are not published. The bottom line is that Causa Prima has strong credentials and almost no public proof, so momentum is watch.

CEO Maex Ament co-founded Taulia, which SAP bought in 2022. The team is about 25 people in Madrid and Munich, with a New York office planned (Medium). Sources disagree on the founding year, 2024 or 2026, and on the CTO’s past roles.

What does it sell?

The product has four parts: automate, negotiate, forecast, and steer. Agents match invoices, clear approvals and exceptions, agree discounts and payment terms with the other company, and forecast cash from counterparty signals. CFOs set floors and discount limits. An SAP S/4HANA add-on reads invoices, purchase orders, goods receipts, and supplier data, and SAP posts entries only after a person approves them (High).

Enterprise buyers bring their suppliers onto the network, and small companies also sign up. Geography is Europe first, with German e-invoice formats and DATEV and Lexware connectors (Medium). The US is the stated next market.

Pricing is a success fee on negotiated early payments, with the rate undisclosed (High). No tier, platform fee, or minimum is public. Scribo, its free e-invoicing tool, generates German ZUGFeRD and XRechnung invoices that meet EN 16931, plus plain US PDF invoices. Scribo ships as a web tool, API, hosted MCP server, CLI, and agent skill.

What does it ship for AI agents?

Shipped: buyer and supplier agents on one network, and an SAP-certified S/4HANA add-on announced on October 27, 2026 (High). SAP writes need a person’s approval, and early use targets low-stakes, long-tail invoices. Scribo runs as a hosted MCP server with no signup. Developer directories list public invoice, jurisdiction, and Scribo APIs.

Absent: no payment rails. Payment connectors exist for Stripe, GoCardless, Airwallex, and PayPal, but existing payment programs keep running (High). No dry-run mode or event surface is documented.

What does a buyer need to check?

The model needs both sides on the network, and the company publishes no count of connected buyer and supplier pairs. When the counterparty has no agent, the workflow falls back to email, which helps only one finance team. One unnamed European steel producer supplies every published result: 86% touchless from 34%, €1.6M in discounts, and cycle time cut from 11 days to 2. The 3,000+ account claim stayed the same from June to October, and small firms count toward it (Medium).

The company’s page marks ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type 2 as “ongoing.” The trust portal lists an ISO 27001 Stage 1 report and no public SOC 2 report (High). The “150+ integrations” claim sums to 137 across the category counts on the same page (Medium). Causa Prima has no G2 or Capterra listing yet, so buyers have no review base to read.

What to watch

  • A named enterprise customer. The onboarding claim becomes checkable. Shows first on the website and in press.
  • A published count of connected pairs or an exception-resolution rate. Shows first on the website and in investor posts.
  • SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001 issued. Shows first on the trust portal.
  • A published fee rate, platform fee, or minimum. Shows first on a pricing page.
  • SAP Taulia or a card network shipping agents on both sides. Shows first in SAP and network releases.
