Versapay puts four levels of autonomy on its AR platform

Augment, Assist, Action, Autonomous. Versapay's labels give AR leaders a way to ask any vendor what its agent does today.

Versapay announcement

What happened

Versapay announced Versapay Intelligence on October 8, 2026. It is an AI layer across invoicing, collections, cash application, payments, and ERP connectivity. Versapay frames autonomy in four stages: Augment, Assist, Action, and Autonomous. Three capabilities are live: an assistant, sentiment scoring, and AI customer summaries.

AI cash application is in beta. It reads remittance in dozens of formats, including PDFs, spreadsheets, and scanned images. Versapay also added a collections module and embedded payments for Microsoft Dynamics F&SCM.

What it means

The stage labels are more useful than the features. Today’s live capabilities sit in Augment and Assist. They surface signals and draft work while a person decides. Cash application, the most mechanical AR task, is the first candidate for Action, and it is still in beta. That sequence is honest. It also shows that autonomous AR is a roadmap stage, not a shipping feature.

Why it matters to you

AR leaders get a vocabulary for vendor demos. Ask every vendor which stage each feature is in today, not on the roadmap. On cash application, the beta matters. Remittance arrives in dozens of formats, and matching it is where an agent earns trust or loses it.

What to watch

AI cash application is in beta. Watch for its general release, and for what it posts without a person. Watch whether any feature moves from Assist to Action or Autonomous in Versapay’s own labels. Watch whether other AR vendors adopt stage labels of their own, so buyers can compare what ships today.
